Australia’s first 1 Hotels property is set to open in May 2025, with the launch of 1 Hotel Melbourne.
Launched in 2015 by visionary founder Barry Sternlicht, 1 Hotels is described as a mission-driven, luxury lifestyle hotel that cultivates the best of sustainable design and architecture.
1 Hotels says the Melbourne property, located on the banks of the Yarra River, will be a feat of sustainable, biophilic design.
“Throughout the hotel over 2,000 living plants create the feeling of bringing the ‘outside-in’, with each room and suite lush with plantlife and sunlight, due to every room enjoying enviable river or city views,” according to 1 Hotels.
Guests will also have access to a 3,500-square-meter native-planted park to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy the river.
Featuring 277 guest rooms and 114 hotel-branded residences, the property will feature several dining options and a large function and events centre on the ground floor.
A first-floor wellness space will include a gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and ice baths, as well as an indoor swimming pool.
A curated activities program will allow guests to experience Melbourne “through 1 Hotels lens honouring art, nature and wellbeing”.
