iji Airways has bolstered its global footprint with the launch of its longest flight and first-ever direct service between Dallas Fort Worth, Texas and Nadi, Fiji.
The new service operates three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays initially with seamless connections from Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific via Fiji.
The inaugural 13-hour flight from Nadi, Fiji touched down at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport this week (10 Dec) and was greeted with a water cannon salute as it taxied to the gate with excited passengers and esteemed guests onboard.
Fiji Airways is operating the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 XWB aircraft on this new route, offering premium seating for 334 customers, including 33 lie-flat, aisle-access business class seats for ultimate comfort and convenience.
“With the launch of this new route, Fiji Airways is significantly enhancing connectivity across North America, offering Australians more convenient travel options with seamless connections from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, and Cairns starting next April,” said Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen.
“This expansion not only opens doors for Australian travellers but also strengthens the inbound market, bringing more visitors from Texas and beyond to experience the beauty of Fiji and Australia.
“In line with our mission, ‘We Fly for Fiji,’ this new service will bring up to 1,000 passengers to Fiji each week, supporting our nation’s tourism industry and creating new avenues for business collaboration between our two nations.
“With over 2,000 additional seats per week added to our network, we’re excited to see strong demand already building in both directions.”
DFW’s Chief Executive Officer, Sean Donohue said “DFW is excited to add the beautiful islands of Fiji to our growing portfolio of international destinations, bringing North Texas nonstop access to a tropical paradise and connecting Nadi with DFW’s network of more than 250 destinations around the world.”
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is currently ranked the second most connected airport in the world, providing Fiji Airways passengers with easier access to more than 250 global destinations.
The DFW-NAN route strengthens Fiji Airways’ expanding presence in North America, joining existing services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver to be the fifth direct route in the North American region
“Dallas Fort Worth serves as a key strategic hub for us, offering passengers access to over 250 cities worldwide, and unlocking exciting travel and business opportunities,” Viljoen said.
This new route also marks Fiji Airways’ 26th international direct route, and with the airline’s growing network, will connect seamlessly with the airline’s 27th direct service to Cairns, Australia launching from 10th April 2025.
Fiji Airways’ fleet of 21 modern aircraft already benefits from codeshare and interline partnerships with American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, Porter Airlines and others.
The new DFW-NAN service, along with the airline’s upcoming adoption of American Airlines’ AAdvantage loyalty program next year and full oneworld membership from 31st March 2025, will open up more travel benefits for Fiji Airways’ customers.
To celebrate the launch of the service, Fiji Airways is offering return flights from Australia to Dallas Fort Worth from just AU$1,599 per person via Nadi, Fiji available until 17th December 2024.
