Oaks Hotels, Resorts and Suites is embracing the spirit of giving this festive season with charitable Christmas trees in its lobbies.
Throughout December, guests will have the opportunity to hang their name on a decoration on an Oaks ‘giving tree’ when they make a donation to Habitat for Humanity during online booking via the Oaks Hotels website or through the purchase of a charity bottle of Mt Franklin water at the hotel, with $1 from each sale going to the charity.
Habitat for Humanity Australia and New Zealand supports vulnerable families facing adverse circumstances such as family violence or natural disasters, to build and own their own home.
Oaks Hotels also undertakes financial fundraising to facilitate Habitat for Humanity building programs and team volunteering activities including helping with landscaping, renovations and gardening.
“We are excited to make our Oaks Giving Tree program more visible to our guests this festive season and to encourage the spirit of giving at what can be a particularly difficult time for the most vulnerable people in our community,” said Minor Hotels Australasia Chief Operating Officer, Craig Hooley.
“Oaks Hotels’ core purpose is to be a ‘home away from home’, which is why we’re using our resources and our platform to help our staff and guests offer a safe home to as many people as possible.”
Since establishing the partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Oaks Hotels has helped 160 vulnerable families, including women and children, escaping domestic violence.
